about

This is the first single off of Jake's forthcoming untitled full length album.

If you want it for Free, take it for free- If you want to throw me a buck and help me record the rest of the album, that's cool too!

lyrics

The ghosts of my past hang around me like so many wind chimes
their constant janglings they taunt me, reminding me of what I've done
a scarlet ibis perched outside on the power lines
too far north of the tropics, feathers bright as blood

I've laid waste, filled graves / left fire blazing in my wake
but no more, closed doors / the years that the locust have eaten, will be restored

Whispers plotting my destruction burn my ears like fire
I try to outrun my accusers with murder on their lips
my misdeeds piled up against me, logs in a funeral pyre
my head weighs heavy on my shoulders, and I gasp as the wind shifts

I've laid waste, filled graves / left fire blazing in my wake
but no more, closed doors / the years that the locust have eaten, will be restored

Grace obliterates my chains / my dark heart is washed in a crimson rain / my fields desolate and bare
crops begin to grow and seed fills the air

I've laid waste, filled graves / left fire blazing in my wake
but no more, closed doors / the years that the locust have eaten
the years that the locust have eaten / the years that the locust have eaten, will be restored
